Its been a while

As you can see I am not very good at writing on here. Things are going really good here at Conroe, each week I am so thankful that God opened the door for me here. The new ministry is challenging but whats new? I just finished reading a book by Rick Atchley called "What Men Need To Hear." I would highly encourage you to read this book. I am now reading a book by Bill Donahue called "In the Company of Jesus." So far this has been a great read. Well, Im off to finish getting ready for my Wednesday class. We are studing how to become Spiritually Mature people. It has been a great study (I think). The outline for the class is found in the quailfications for Elders in 1 Tim 3 and Titus. Take care and God bless.

Things are going good

Well we have be in Conore for three weeks and things are going good. It feels kinda weird not doing youth ministry anymore. But I am really liking this new ministry, I feel like God has called me to work with young families. We had our first event with the young families this past Saturday and it was awesome. We had 30 couples and their kids there, it was a great night.
I really feel at home with the church in Conroe. We are growing and the future looks awesome. We are not bound by church tradition, we simply let God guide us were we need to go, it is an awesome thing.
I must go now. God Is Good, All The Time!

Moving

This Sunday is a bittersweet day for me. It will be my last Sunday at Champions. I am moving to Conroe to work with the church there as the Young Families and Outreach Minister. I am very excited about this new position. I feel like God is calling me to this new ministry. Please pray for me and my familiy during this time.

Kinda funny

You know its kinda funny when somebody ask you how you feel on a certain topic and you tell them and they dont like what they hear.
My friends and family are in "panic" mode because I am changing my views on a veiw things that I always believed. Some told me that I was doing it for shock value and some say they just cant believe it. I still believe that Jesus died and rose again, but I dont think that and instrument is a sin and will cost you your salvation and I dont see a problem with women being a little more involved in worship. But that is just me. I like this whole unity movement idea, I would like to see everybody get on board and join in.
Well summer is in full swing and I am getting ready to be gone for 16 days in a row. But it has been a great summer so far. And I know that it will continue to be.

Summer is almost here.

Well it is that time of year again. Time for a lot of travel across Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. There was a time where I did not look forward to the summer but for some reason I cant wait for the camps this summer. I struggle sometimes with what God really wants me to do. But as I looked at those kids yesterday when I was preaching I just felt that this is what God wants for me. Maybe there will be a time when I'm done working with youth, I dont know. I preached on Dont letting go yesterday and as I was preaching I felt as if I was talking to myself, maybe that why I preached on what I did. The passage of scripture that I used was Exodus 14:1-14. But anywho, im off to lunch with a kiddo in the youth group.

Must read!

I just finished reading "The Other Side of The Keyboard" by Milton Jones. It was a great read and I would encourage you to read it. Milton preaches for a church that is a merger of a c of c and a Christian church. If you get let me know what you think.

Have a great week.

God is at work.

Yesterday was a great day for many reasons but there is one reason that sticks out more. For a while now I have seen God place things on my heart. One that He has placed is a desire for unity with other believers. After much prayer, reading and meditation I contacted a youth minister at a local Christian church. We decided to meet togther and have lunch. We ate lunch yesterday and talked about how much we have in common in what we believe and our ministries. We laughed and prayed together. It was a great lunch. I think God for all that he has done for me and will continue to do for me.

Have a great week.
